1. Introduction

Welcome to Chautari Hub. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Chautari Hub website at chautarihub.com, the iOS application, and any related services (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which together constitute a binding agreement between you and Chautari Hub. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must discontinue use of the Service immediately.

We may modify these Terms at any time. Changes become effective upon posting to the Service. Your continued use following any modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. What Chautari Hub Offers

Chautari Hub is a news and media aggregation platform. Through our Service, you can access:

  • News aggregation: Headlines, excerpts, and metadata from Nepali and English news publishers, with links to original articles.
  • Radio directory: A directory of Nepali FM radio stations with links to their publicly available internet streams.
  • Games: Word games and puzzles including Shabda, Crossword, Sudoku, and Bagchal.
  • Market data: Foreign exchange rates, precious metal prices, and fuel prices sourced from public institutions.

The Service is provided free of charge. Certain features, such as personalised news feeds and saved articles, require account registration. Should we introduce paid features in the future, pricing and terms will be clearly disclosed before any purchase.

Important: Chautari Hub does not produce original news content. We aggregate and link to content created by third-party publishers and broadcasters.

3. User Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. If you are under 16 years of age in the European Economic Area, you must have parental consent. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements.

4. User Accounts

Account registration is optional but required for certain features including personalised feeds, saved articles, and followed sources.

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account.
  • You may not transfer or share your account with others.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
  • Accounts inactive for 24 consecutive months may be deleted after prior notification.

5. Permitted Use

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may browse news, listen to radio streams, play games, and view market data solely through the interfaces provided by the Service.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation with any person or entity.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks connected to the Service.

  • Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell, or exploit any portion of the Service without express written permission.
  • Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices or labels on the Service.
  • Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or other malicious code.
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users.
  • Use the Service to distribute spam or unsolicited communications.

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action against anyone who violates these prohibitions, including removing content, suspending accounts, and reporting to law enforcement.

7. News Aggregation

The Service aggregates news content from third-party publishers. Regarding this content:

  • We display headlines, excerpts, thumbnails, and metadata to help users discover content.
  • All articles link to their original source. Full articles are read on the publisher's website.
  • We do not modify, edit, or take editorial responsibility for third-party news content.
  • Inclusion of a news source does not constitute endorsement of its views or accuracy.
  • Users should verify important information through official sources before acting on it.

8. Radio Station Directory

The Service includes a curated directory of Nepali FM radio stations. We operate similarly to a traditional radio tuner—helping you discover and access stations, but not controlling or hosting any broadcast content ourselves.

  • How it works: When you select a station, your device establishes a direct connection to that station's own streaming server. We simply provide the directory listing and stream URL—the audio travels directly from the broadcaster to you.
  • Content ownership: Radio stations own and control their broadcasts, stream infrastructure, station names, logos, and all related intellectual property. We display station information solely to help listeners identify and access stations.
  • Public streams: We catalogue stations that make their streams publicly accessible online. Listeners receive the same broadcast they would hear by visiting the station's own website or tuning in via traditional radio.
  • Regulatory compliance: Listed stations are licensed FM broadcasters operating legally in Nepal under applicable regulations from the Ministry of Information and Communications.
  • Broadcast content: Stations determine their own programming, including music, talk shows, news, and advertisements. We have no editorial control or influence over what any station broadcasts.
  • Stream reliability: Station availability depends entirely on each broadcaster. Stations may experience outages, modify their stream URLs, or discontinue online streaming at any time.
  • For broadcasters: If you operate a radio station and would like to add, update, or remove your station from our directory, please contact us.

9. Games

The Service includes word games and puzzles for entertainment purposes.

  • Daily games reset at midnight Nepal Standard Time (NPT). All users receive the same puzzle each day.
  • Game progress, statistics, and streaks are stored locally on your device.
  • Clearing browser data or uninstalling the application will permanently delete your game progress.
  • Games are provided for entertainment only. No prizes, rewards, or gambling are offered.

10. Market Data

The Service displays foreign exchange rates, gold and silver prices, and fuel prices for Nepal.

  • Sources: Data is obtained from public sources including Nepal Rastra Bank, the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Association, and Nepal Oil Corporation.
  • Informational purposes only: Market data is provided for general information and should not be relied upon for financial decisions.
  • No guarantees: We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of market data. Rates may be delayed and can change throughout the day.
  • Verify independently: Always verify rates with official sources before making financial transactions.

11. Ownership and Copyright

11.1 Our Property

The Service, including its design, layout, code, features, and original content (excluding aggregated content from publishers and broadcasters), is owned by Chautari Hub and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without express written permission.

11.2 Publisher and Broadcaster Content

News articles, photographs, videos, radio broadcasts, station branding, and other content from publishers and broadcasters belong to those original creators. We display this content with full attribution, and all ownership rights remain with the respective publishers and stations.

11.3 Copyright Concerns

We take intellectual property seriously. If you are a content owner and believe your work has been used improperly, please contact us with details. We will respond within 48 hours and remove disputed content while we investigate.

12. User Submissions

If you submit feedback, suggestions, bug reports, or other communications to us:

  • You retain ownership of your submissions.
  • You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual licence to use, modify, and incorporate your submissions to improve the Service.
  • You represent that you have the right to make such submissions and that they do not violate any third-party rights.

13. External Links and Websites

The Service contains links to third-party websites, applications, and content. These links are provided for convenience only. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for third-party content, privacy practices, or terms of service. Your interactions with third parties are solely between you and them. 14. Uptime and Availability

We strive to maintain continuous availability of the Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or the entire Service at any time without prior notice.

15. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CHAUTARI HUB AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill.
  • Service interruption or computer damage.
  • Cost of substitute services.
  • Any damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (USD $100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

YOUR SOLE REMEDY FOR DISSATISFACTION WITH THE SERVICE IS TO STOP USING IT.

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Chautari Hub and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any rights of another party; or (d) your violation of any applicable law.

18. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time:

  • You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time through account settings.
  • We may suspend or terminate your access immediately, without prior notice, for any violation of these Terms, particularly violations of intellectual property, prohibited conduct, or security provisions.
  • Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
  • Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) shall survive.

19. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction for violations of intellectual property rights.

20. General Provisions

  • Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Chautari Hub regarding the Service.
  • Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
  • Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
  • Assignment: We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms. You may not assign your rights or obligations without our prior written consent.
  • Force Majeure: We shall not be liable for any failure or delay resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
